X-Rays

I've been told that the mother of all boys better get used to broken bones and casts!  Our big guy has been limping for a week now.  I noticed it last Sunday.  He claims that the little plastic basketball hoop feel on his foot.  We thought at first it was just a bruise but after a week of him hobbling around (even when distracted) we thought it was time to have it checked out.  We finally decided to take him to Prompt Care this afternoon and have some x-rays taken.  We got in and out pretty quickly.  They took 3 x-rays of his left foot.  The doctor said it was really hard to read the x-rays of a child because of all the growth plates.  He said he didn't see anything major and if Austin was still limping on Monday to call the pediatrician.  He was a bit nervous because he didn't know what it exactly meant to have an x-ray.  He was very brave!

Mason is 18 months

Mason is already 18 months!  We had an appointment scheduled for next week but I asked if we could include his check up during our rash visit today.  It ended up working out great.  Mason still only has 4 teeth but the doctor thinks there are more getting close to popping through!  It doesn't stop him from eating a thing though.  He literally eats more than Austin does.  One of his favorites is muffins, rolls or bread of any kind.  The kid loves bread!  He loves fruit, green beans, ice cream (anything sweet), milk, juice, chocolate or strawberry milk (on rare occasion), shells and cheese, animal crackers, M&M's.
He's such a sweet little guy that loves to snuggle.  When I pick him up he pats and rubs my back.  He loves to grab my face and look me straight in the eyes and smile the sweetest smile.  Even with the bar and shoes he's an amazing sleeper.  We've been lucky with both of our boys.  They are both wonderful sleepers!
I was trying to get my light setup and Austin is always a dependable helper.  I love this shot I got on accident.  They truly are buddies.  Love them!

Brian and I have been laughing over this one.  If you know Mason well at all you know he has quite the sense of humor.  He makes us laugh daily!

This was not prompted...the kid just likes his belly!

Over it.

As I was snuggling with Mason before I put him to bed I couldn't help but snap a photo with  my phone of these awful shoes this poor little boy has to wear.  We are now battling a rash on his ankles from them.  After a week of home remedies I took him to the Doctor who prescribed a heavy dose of Hydrocortisone twice a day.  It's beginning to dry up but that also means it's becoming itchy and now bothering Mason.  I just wish he didn't have to wear these every night!  We can't wait to throw them in the burn.  But then I wonder if we might want to keep them as a reminder of what he went through!  Poor little boy.  He sits fairly still when we put them on him.  It still breaks my heart when the tears start to come.  You can just tell he's OVER.IT.
